The project for the new Montecristi Land Terminal was officially presented to authorities, media and strategic stakeholders in a meeting that marked the beginning of a new stage for one of the most relevant mobility infrastructures planned for the canton. The event included the participation of Ricardo Fernández, Business Development Manager for the Americas at Gómez Platero, who represented the Studio and joined the institutional panel alongside Mayor Jonathan Toro, local authorities and project representatives.

The initiative proposes an architectural piece designed to organize flows, improve the user experience and strengthen regional connectivity. From its conception, the terminal is integrated into a broader urban vision linked to Zofratti, the free trade zone also planned by Gómez Platero, consolidating a territorial system capable of articulating mobility, logistics, economic activity and new centralities.

During the meeting, a cooperation agreement was also formalized between the Municipal Decentralized Autonomous Government of Montecristi and MDI Corp., an organization dedicated to promoting economic development and territorial competitiveness in Manabí. The agreement will allow progress in the comprehensive structuring of the project under a Public-Private Partnership model.

As part of this process, technical, legal and financial pre-feasibility and feasibility studies will be developed, together with the necessary support stages to consolidate the initiative. The presentation brought together local authorities, technical teams and institutional representatives, who emphasized the importance of planning infrastructure capable of responding to the region’s current and future dynamics.
