GP on Real Estate Millenium: architecture, innovation and new business
Santiago Pérez, International Business Development Manager at Gómez Platero, joined Real Estate Milenium to share the firm’s perspective on architecture, innovation and new business.
Real Estate Millenium by Ouners is a program focused on the real estate industry, bringing together leading professionals to discuss market trends, business, and opportunities. Hosted by Juan Fernández Mugica, it airs live on FM Millenium 106.7 and serves as a platform for exchange among developers, architects, and other key players in the real estate industry.
Santiago Pérez, Manager of the firm’s International Business Development area, was invited to take part in one of the program’s most recent editions, where he was interviewed by Juan Fernández Mugica about the role of GP’s Business Development team. The conversation explored the firm’s international reach and its work from Uruguay across different markets, with offices in Mexico, Ecuador, and Spain. Pérez explained that, in this context, developing new business opportunities requires a deep understanding of each client’s needs, business plans, and the particular characteristics of each market, allowing architecture to become a strategic component of the development process.
The adoption of new technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, was another key topic of the conversation. Integrating these tools into architectural and management processes opens up new possibilities for transforming workflows, enhancing capabilities, and responding to the demands of an industry in constant evolution.
The interview also highlighted a principle that guides the way projects are conceived: real estate development should create value for three fundamental stakeholders—the developer, the end user, and the city. This approach understands the success of architecture through the convergence of these three dimensions: contributing to business viability, enhancing the experience of those who inhabit the spaces, and generating a positive impact on the urban environment.
