The Festival will take place from November 18 to 20 at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The shortlisted projects will be presented live to festival delegates and their respective international juries.

One of WAF’s defining features is its live judging format. Finalists present their projects to an international panel of experts and peers, creating an opportunity for direct and meaningful exchange. This format makes the festival a distinctive platform for learning and inspiration, with each presentation offering deeper insight into the technical, conceptual and social dimensions of the shortlisted work.

The 2026 edition of WAF brings together internationally renowned practices including Bjarke Ingels Group, Foster + Partners, Studio Gang and Grimshaw, alongside emerging firms introducing new perspectives to the discipline. The shortlist is also geographically diverse, with strong representation from the Americas, China, the United Kingdom, Australia, India, Canada, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye and Japan.

Shortlisted in the Future Projects – Urban Design category, RDP proposes the regeneration of an extensive stretch of Buenos Aires’ waterfront through a masterplan that brings together public space, housing, nature and infrastructure, strengthening the relationship between the city and the Río de la Plata.

A Global Stage for Architectural Excellence

The winners of each WAF category will advance to a final round before a “super jury,” which will select the recipients of the festival’s highest honours: World Building of the Year and Future Project of the Year. The results will be announced during the Gala Dinner on Friday, November 20.

The selection of all three submitted projects recognises their design quality and innovation while bringing them to the attention of the international architectural community. Across healthcare, education and urban development, each project demonstrates the potential of architecture to create places that inspire, connect and improve people’s lives.
